A Non-Vintage Champagne cultivated out of the (Again, no surprises here) Champagne region of France. This is a Sparkling wine consisting of 55% Chardonnay and 45% Pinot Noir. The Winery is Laurent-Perrier, a storied Champagne producer who has consistently received the highest of ratings from Wine Critics around the world.
The “Grand Siècle” Brut is a prestigious cuvée that is a mixture of the top blended wines from some of the best years of Laurent-Perrier production. It is not overtly dry and even has a soft side to it. Ultimately it is a well-balanced and elegant wine that has reached a maturity that will only improve with time. A toasty taste with a fruity scent to accompany.
Wine Enthusiast rated this bottle at 97 points, with the prestigious wine critic Robert Parker rating it a 95.
This Non-Vintage contains hints of toasted brioche and has an acidic side that shares the flavors of cassis, honey, ginger, almonds, red berries, plum and caramel with a chalky feel. It is ultimately a blend of the 1997, 1999 and the 2002 vintages.
